Last week my sisters finally braided my hair, African style. I have to say, at first I thought I was going to look rediculous (and indeed i do), but its actually really easy to take care of. I have only washed my hair once since Monday and you can't even tell. I'm thinking about getting some more next week. Some of the girls here have pretty intricate patterns. Maybe i'll get some swirls or something crazy. I wore my pink pagne outfit with my braids and the reaction on the streets was amazing. People were not just shouting 'nassara' at me, some were even calling me 'balaidjo', which means something like 'local' or 'black person'. Brian is wearing his new blue pagne outfit here. i dont have a full picture, but he's got pants that match the shirt, its beautiful.
