Use Your Imagination

Bili Bili, or Bil-Bil, the local 'beer': It has a familiar taste, yet its like nothing I've ever had before. I would be wrong to say that it tastes like apple cider, paint, and warm liquor, but thats what I think of when I drink it. Use your imagination. I guess it sounds bad, but warm 'beer' on a sunday afternoon (11 am is afternoon rignt?) hit the spot. Its served in buckets much like the one shown here. Notice the foamy bubbles - its fermenting right before our eyes.

One drinks Bil-Bil out of calabashes like this one:

(Internet too slow..imagine a wooden bowl)

These particular pictures are from a sunday afternoon a few weeks back when we all went to Phil's homestay and drank Bil-Bil that his grandmother had made.

**I keep forgetting to mention this: If you are sending something, it is best to use padded envelopes, NOT boxes. We got a huge load of packages, not one box made it, but there were about 30 padded envelopes. The Yaounde address is still correct, we may open a PO Box in January. Thanks.**
